It’s longer than you think.

In eight days I will have been in Japan for two full years. The very thought of that previous sentence sends chills up my spine. It feels more like six months than six years, although I admit that I’ve experienced a great deal in that time. In fact, I don’t even feel like the same person who got on that plane back in Edmonton. My wants and needs have changed. My very essence is not what it used to be. You could almost say that I run on a different clock now. I breathe a different kind of air. Now, with one final year remaining, I have to decide where my new desires will take me. The problem is quite complex. There are many endless possibilities, and I have to choose but one.
