Mergers Mergers Mergers

Now that my town has fused with the city to the west, we can now enjoy the municipal elections that follow. Why are they so much fun? Well, for starters, they wake you up at six in the morning with their campaign vans; blaring about how much they want you to vote for them. If I actually had a vote in this local election I would vote for the candidate who made the least amount of racket at six in morning! Let me sleep! Goddamn you!

In other news, I was required to complete a Japanese census form, and it had to be in Japanese of all things. The nice old man at the door didn’t speak a word of English, nor did he provide a reference to anywhere where I could get help while filling out this census. Why, if I weren’t fluent in conversational Japanese(and when I say fluent I mean just barely), I would have been in real trouble now. I would have prefer the English version. Do census forms usually ask you to provide information on the area of your household? If so then I’m not so puzzled about this question. At least they didn’t ask me how big my penis is.
