The Home of Pottery

I’m not kidding. This is what this place is actually called. You can find it in Fujisawa town. We had two hours and a lump of clay. What to do? After my 14 inch fallus sculpture broke I decided to make a cute coffee mug instead. Only now, in looking at this picture, do I realize that I made the handle too wide. For shame Jason, for shame.

The logistics of Bullshit

Tokyo Game Show 2005

So I went to the Tokyo Game show on the weekend. I can’t say I was as impressed as I was last year. Even though there were two new consoles to gaze upon, it just didn’t have the splendor that it did before.

Microsoft spared no expense with its video presentations and live demos. Sony on the other hand provided a large black room where you could watch about an hour of videos. I called this the wank room.I would have prefered a live machine, or anything. Instead, I got the wank room.

To sony’s credit, they had a pretty hopping PSP area. I got to sample Katamari Damashi for the PSP and I tried a new two player game that involves two people using the same PSP at the same time. Incredible. It involed monkeys of some sort.

All in all, the show was full of hype and expectations that most likely will never be met. I can’t say I’m that keen on going again in the future. Once should have been enough. I guess I’ve learned my lesson. Bullshit does indeed have quite a logistics division. In fact, it’s staggering. I would estimate it is now in the billions of dollars.

Local Flora and Fauna

Fujisawa Snake

When you think of Japan, do you think of lush forests teeming with wildlife? I didn’t think so. The first thing that usually comes to mind is endless urban sprawls and concrete river beds. Yet, low and behold, the area I live in contains massive forests. And you’d be surprised at the local fauna you’ll find.

Let’s take this snake for example. It just happened to be slithering around the schoolyard. I have also seen huge eagles, deer, bears and 4 inch long insects. Japan continues to surprise.

Shout it out

I spent Saturday at the Senmaya Junior High Sports Festival. I was overcome by the amount of hard work that these young people put into their activities. It makes me feel so lazy in comparaison.

They got hit by two thunderstorms during the day. They came back from both and were able to finish the festival.

During the day, they perform full choreographed pieces of dance. Truly impressive. All this in addition to cheering and runnning around.
