Underwear in a Combini

The Combini

So the new Lawson’s opened up down the street, which now means that I have a third convenience store where I can devour tasty goods. But what is combini really? Well, it’s your typical 7-11 with a few exceptions:

1. You can pay your bill there.
2. They sell underwear. Now I’m not talking about pantyhose. I’m talking men’s and women’s underwear. Now that’s convenient. But when are you going to need an emergency pair of underwear? Tell me! And some of that underwear is sexy too. I can’t figure it out.
3. They sell make up.
4. You can buy video games there as well. And outside there is sometimes a CD vending machine.

The one nice thing about the combini’s in Japan is that I have never seen so many pieces of meat of a stick before. Yum. And the onigiri. Oh so tasty. Okay, I’m done with that. Hmmm.

Oh yea, I found a used manga shop. Whatca looking for? I can find it. Cheap too…^_^ And I got my haircut today. Here are some pics. I’m just going to link them today.

Mootrix

Funniest Video ever. Tara, be sure to watch this! I think it might be from kung pow:enter the fist. I may have to watch that movie.

My Bum is in pain

Well, it’s the end of another week, and there is only one Japanese sentence I can use to decribe it: Oshiri ga itai desu! Yep, I spent most of the week glued to my desk at not in class. This was because it was exam week and they had nothing for me to do. But next week should be fun once again.
If you like funny things, you should check this out. Blarrgggg! My innards! Is the best one. See if you can spot where it is.

Btw, in my previous posts I was a little down. No worries. I’m still having a blast. Things aren’t perfect, but being 90% can’t hurt. I think I might take a trip to sendai this weekend. We’ll see…^_^
Hockey season starts up again on October 9th! Go Oilers Go! and team Canada made it to the World Cup Semi Finals in soccer. Go Canada Go! Well that’s enough pep talk for now. Have a good weekend everyone. Btw, I going for a haricut tomorrow, and I might just get most of it taken off. A buzz cut so to speak.

Run around

Wednesday Update: I started running again. Feels good and painful at the same time. But it’s nice to be able to get excercise again. Even though I’m losing weight, I want to be healthy as well. So here is to Jason ver 2.0. Which should be done sometime in the new year. I’m hoping mabye to get a beta release out around chirstmas..^_-

Culture Shock Rock

Well I’m now two months in and I’m starting to feel some of the effects of culture shock. Nothing serious and I’m not worried about it. I’m really starting to miss being around a group of friends that I can be myself with. I’ve met two people here that I can be myself with, but I rarely get to hang out with them. With everybody else, I need to pretend I’m not a 27 year old who likes video games, anime and all things nerdy. Somehow though, I feel that they can see through it. Most ALT’s here don’t seems to understand these concepts. To them it’s all about drinking a partying. And while this is fun for me too, it’s not fun when it’s every single day.

I think that culture shock is required though. It strips you of the securities that you had in your own country and start to shape new ones. Without culture shock I feel that one cannot get used to a new life. Having been thrown out of a four year relationship, this feeling is something I am familiar with and can deal with. So no worries. Also, the cold is coming, and without central heating it can be pretty chilly at night. I think this is helping the shock a little. But good news is on it’s way. I will be doing some travels this and next month. So it should keep things fresh.
