And so it begins

Today I got my Jet contract in the mail. It’s a big document. Of course, not as big as the JET handbook. It’s like 300 pages!!! It’s going to be a blast, but I must admit, I’m not sure what I’ve gotten myself into. All I know for cetain, is that in two months from now I’m going to be in Japan. My long dream realized after all these years.

More on this “Iwate-Ken”

It’s my birthday today. Yay! I want to wish Rhonda and Sylvia and Jen a Happy grad. Also, Dan sent me a great page that outlines the area in Japan that I will be going to. Iwate-Ken is the name. I’m going to learn all about it so I can be prepared. I will update this later on in the day when I have more info.

This was the best birthday ever. I got to have dinner that Paula made me and it was really really delicious. Then we chatted for a bit and I went home. After I came back from dinner, everyone came over. I got a chance to see everyone. I missed Sylvia, but I did get the card that she sent me with Rhonda. Thanks…^_^ We chatted and I got lots of birthday hugs(and punches) and things were really great. The only down part was that it ended at 12:00am…;_; Oh and my sister, Melissa is in town. I must visit her, however there will be lots of time for that.

Coming of Age

Yikes! Happy birthday to me. I’m now 27 years old. I can’t believe it. I only feel like I’m 21. Oh well, I guess that’s life. So, what the hell happened to me this weekend? Let’s start with me doing the stationary bike race of saturday at 12pm at Telus Field. It was good. It was for Cerebral Palsy, and if you owe me pledge money you know I’m coming to get you. What was the worst part of that event? The bike seats hurt my ass. Ouch. After I did that, I went to get my oil changed. I found at the my transaxle was messed up. Or so it seems. So we ended up going down to Calgary for Otafest on a prayer. I got to do the improv again, and I was much better then I was in Seattle. I find improv relaxing and a great chance to come up with funnies out of no where.. It was most fun. Should I find pictures I will post them. My transaxle survived the ordeal. This made me happy. I got hang out with Dan and Mannie, and Mark and Florence. It was especially nice getting a chance to hang out with Florence because I find her to be extermely awesome, but usually have 0 time to hang out with. Mabye it’s because I live in outer bum f@*k Edmonton. I want to thank Dan and Mannie for inviting us over, and for the yummy cinnamon buns, and Kristen’s mom for leting us stay at her house. Awesome. We all went to Peter’s and cosumed large quantities of Alberta Beef. And then drove back Edmonton at the speed tripe. Now I’m here writing this and sweltering in the heat. Things from this point on are going to get really busy. Oh boy!

Iwate-Ken

Holy cow. First off. I found out today the name of the prefecture that I will be staying in. It’s called Iwate-Ken. No city or school yet, but I will be getting a call from my contracting organization really soon I hope. The dream is starting to come to life. I am no longet a JET applicant, but a JET participant now. Yay! In other news, Ottawa lost 3-2 in game 7 of the conference finals. Sniff. That means that it’s going to be New Jersey and the ducks in the finals. What else is new? Oh yeah, I’m going to be in Calgary this weekend. And I’m now on vacation. I will use this time to prepare for my trip to Japan, and to get ready for the long hard road of throwing stuff away. Hey, have you ever wondering if someone had a crush on you? I always wondered if there were ever any girls who though I was attractive. Just a passing comment. We came up with another jeff k-ism today for Interact. From now on it shall be known at teh intercat.. By the way. If you like funny stuff check out great photoshop friday. Cheers.
